Range Around Temple |
Lead | |
|
My daughter is now living in Temple. I see that Waco has a skeet and trap club. Are there other areas to shoot fairly close to Temple at which a beginner
could work on her skills? Any discipline would do.

Ranges around Temple | ||
|
Webers has a trap and skeet range in Troy just north of Temple. I dont know a lot of the people who shoot there but I do know the people who own it. I
believe the guy running the range now is Monty England. He is a nice guy. I am not sure about pricing so you would have to call about that.
If it were me, I would try out Ft Hood Trap and Skeet club. The memberships are only $20 per year and the prices are the lowest around. That and there are a lot of great people there who would be willing to help a new shooter. They are open on Saturday and Sunday. I do believe they open sometimes on Thursday afternoon but you would have to check with them on that. They also have a five stand overlayed on a trap and skeet field. On weekends its easy to get on Ft Hood and you dont have to have your firearms registered any more. They just ask that they are kept from plain view while traveling on Ft Hood. I go out there often and have never had any issues. I dont have the phone # handy but you can call information and ask for the sportsmans center on Ft Hood. If I get the chance I will post the # later. HTH. David Bishop |

Both Weber's Outdoors and Ft. Hood have their contact info on this site. Go to the "Club/Range Info" drop down menu above.

Back in the summer, I was also trying to reach the Ft. Hood range, and the posted numbers did not work.
I was able to compile the following: Ft. Hood Sportsman's Center (254) 532-4552 Hours: Thurs, Sat, Sun 9-4 Bldg. 1943 Rod and Gun Loop John Rea |
