Just thought I would give all my San Antonio area shooting compadres as heads up about my upcoming book signing. Free cookies! How can you pass up that kind of opportunity!

PRESS RELEASE

A book signing featuring the 2005 Texas Outdoor Writers Association book of the year, Revenge of Old Boots & Bacon Grease, will be conducted from 2-4 p.m. May 13 at the Northwoods Barnes and Noble Bookstore.
San Antonio outdoor writer and book author Ralph Winingham will be available to sign his award-winning collection of outdoor stories and recipes, in addition to providing free samples of some of his culinary creations.
Released in July 2005, Revenge features tales about the great outdoors and recipes for venison and feral hog; fish and shrimp; little critters and birds; and even a variety of desserts and other sweet things
The Revenge cookbook cover and several of the illustrations in the book are the creations of Sam Caldwell, the 2004 Texas State Artist of the Year and, like Winingham, a veteran TOWA member.
Winingham is a Midwest native who came to Texas in 1971 as a 17-year-old high school graduate entering the U.S. Air Force. He served as one of the youngest military newspaper editors in the Air Force and was editor of the award-winning North Texas Daily before graduating in 1977 with a bachelors of arts degree in journalism at the former North Texas State University.
During the past nearly 30 years as a newspaper and magazine writer and photographer in South Texas, Winingham has won numerous awards from the TOWA for his stories and photographs. He has also been an avid outdoorsman -- earning several local, state and national titles as a competitive shooter with shotguns, rifles and pistols.
The Northwoods Barnes and Noble Bookstore is at 18030 U.S. 281 North, just south of Loop 1604. Additional information is available by calling the store at 490-0411 or Winingham at 240-6149.
