I want to congratulate our new Champion, James Scriber, and our runner-up Clint Foster. They both shot magnificently, with James taking a 1 bird win at the end. Great shooting by both gentlemen! Thanks to Ray Williams and Royce Murphy for helping out setting targets and maintaining the course. It couldn't be done without them. Darrell Mouton & Island Operating did a wonderful job feeding everyone for the Prelim on Friday. Perfect bar-b-q chicken (and a great hamburger steak! Thanks D.) Louisiana Valve cooked their signature fried fish for us on Saturday and a great jambalaya for today. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can't forget Lonesome Charlie, who sponsored the prelim awards, and did all the awards for the main as well. Those have to be the best leather goods on the market, and have been for a lot of years! Executive Member Posts: 217 (09/25/11 9:17 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I agree Hawk, James and Clint shot lights out on some really great targets. Josie Richard also did right nicely in AA. You go girl. The weather was perfect, the food outstanding and plentiful, the drinks and beverages were cold and available throughout the entire weekend. To compliment it all it was all provided at no costs whatsoever to the shooters. Machine trouble was practically non existent. I firmly believe La. has the best and most inexpensive state shoot anywhere. Where else can you shoot three hundred championship style targets for under two hundred dollars and Jr's. and Sub-juniors shoot for free. I for one made some precious memories with my grandson at this shoot. Thank you GOL and the La. State Association. On a more personal note, thanks Hawk for providing to the shooters the best quality shoot that you are capable of throwing. You are without a doubt one of the most honest, hard working, and genuine people that I have ever met. Your honesty and integrity are without question and I consider myself very fortunate to count you amongst one of my closest friends. Also keep a-hold of that Williams guy because he appears to be a pretty good hand also. Snooky

Member Posts: 8 (09/26/11 12:18 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I just wanted to put my two cents in as well. I must say, those were some of the most fun, but challenging targets I've ever shot. You really had to bare down and be aggressive. They truly tested your skills and made you almost second guess yourself at times. Loved them. There was a lot of thought put into each layout, and it showed. So, many thanks for putting so much into the design to each of you guys. You all did an outstanding job and did our state proud. Everything flowed smoothly and there were minimal problems which were tended to with a quickness. The food- fantastic. Congrats to my good buddy James, its been a long time comin' man. Mr. Clint, excellent shooting. And snookie, thank you I must say I feel like a million bucks! Again, thank you Hawk, Diane, Royce and Ray. You guys pulled it off, and you pulled it off with dignity. Hopin' to make the next leg of the state shoot, and hope to see all of you there! Josie Richard

I dont know what else Hawk could have done to make this any better, food was great ,targets were great ,fellowship was great, A+ all around. Special thanks to everyone that got involved food venders, Lonesome Charlie, Joe with Rhino, Hawk and his crew, and LSCA board for putting together what i thought was a wonderful time. I also want to thank each and every shooter that came to this shoot and supported there LSCA shoot. If you went home early you missed a wonderful banquet saturday night. I think that everyone there recieved a door prize and nice ones at that. I hope we can carry over the support to the next shoot at LRL in October. Senior Member Posts: 116 (09/26/11 5:49 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Had a great time Hawk. One of the best, if not the best, State Shoot I've been to, and I've been to all of them but 2. If I had to pick one station it would be the tower in the corner by the pond on Sun. with the long, high incomer and the curling battue on the left. Good pair of targets that you could see well, and had to bear down on the battue. I thought all the targets were well laid out with time to shoot them and not a sight game. That kinda helps with old men like me. Harvey

I forgot to mention that the trappers were excellent and I sincerely mean that. Had a ball, Snooky I had no idea Harvey could eat that much fish.

That will make it easier to hide the fish. I might get Diane to fix another twinkie pie for him too. That will probably help his shooting, give him a huge sugar rush, lol. He might even mistake it for wine!
