Range Around Temple

My daughter is now living in Temple. I see that Waco has a skeet and trap club. Are there other areas to shoot fairly close to Temple at which a beginner could work on her skills? Any discipline would do.

Some of you have been lucky enough to have hunted behind our Britanny, Freckles. What a hunting dog!
She was a wonderful companion to our boys and we're sad to say she had to be put down today. That's her on the right. It's the end of an era in the Barton household..... good-bye, Frecks.

i notice on the scores from nationals, that Pat Lieske shot a 76 on one of the courses.
I thought there were just 75 birds per round

WOW.. just got word that our little spitfire Jenni Clark took 28 guage at nationals!! I still think of her as "my girl" as she started shooting with the 4-H group here at Pecan Meadow, seems like just a short time ago, I watched her become intense in her practice and determination which has paid off and it amazes me each time I see her accomplishments at the area shoots. Can't quite remember, but I think she is just now 14 years old... course she will kill me if I am wrong!!...

Nationals Price issues

I love being at Nationals but last night was the 1st time I have hung around for the shoot-offs and banquet.

The shoot-off itself was great, but the food was rather disappointing chips and dip, some pieces of sausage, a few sandwiches and some meatballs hardly count as a Friday night shooters banquet in my opinion. I get much better food at a regular monthly shoot at nowhere near as high the price of Nationals, I feel that with better food and more space to see the shoot-offs would...
